Types of Truck & SUV Tires

  • Highway (H/T) tires: quiet and comfortable for trucks and SUVs that spend most of their time on pavement.

  • All-terrain (A/T) tires: a balance of on-road comfort and off-road grip for gravel, dirt and cottage roads.

  • Mud-terrain (M/T) tires: deep, open treads for serious off-road use.

  • Winter tires for trucks and SUVs: look for the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol. See our winter tires page.

LT or P-Metric? Load Range Explained

Truck and SUV tires come in two main types. P-metric (passenger) tires suit most crossovers, SUVs and half-ton pickups used for daily driving. LT (light truck) tires are built for heavier loads and towing, with stronger construction, and are common on three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks.

Check the load index and load range on your current tires, or the placard inside the driver's door. Your new tires should match or exceed what your vehicle calls for. Not sure? Bring in your truck or call us and we'll check it.

Truck & SUV Tire Brands

We carry truck and SUV tires from brands including BFGoodrich, Toyo, Nitto, Falken, Cooper, General, Goodyear and Venom Power. Shopping on a budget? Ask about our new economy tires.

Off-Road Wheels and Truck Packages

Pair your new tires with alloy, steel or off-road wheels. A wheel and tire package arrives mounted and balanced, and we check fitment for your truck or SUV before you buy.

Truck & SUV Tire Installation

We mount truck and SUV tires on our touchless tire machine, designed to help protect your wheels during mounting, and balance them with Road Force balancing equipment. Larger tires are more prone to vibration, so a proper balance matters. We also service TPMS sensors.

Installation and balancing is $30 per tire for trucks, and $25 per tire for cars, SUVs and vans, plus a $6 eco fee per tire and taxes. Financing through WippyPay is available.

Truck & SUV Tire FAQs

How much does truck tire installation cost?

Installation and balancing is $30 per tire for trucks and $25 per tire for cars, SUVs and vans, plus a $6 eco fee per tire and taxes.

Do I need LT tires on my truck?

It depends on your truck and how you use it. Many half-ton pickups and SUVs come with P-metric tires, while heavier trucks and trucks that tow often need LT tires. Match or exceed the load index and load range your vehicle calls for, and ask us if you're not sure.

Are all-terrain tires good in winter?

Some all-terrain tires carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, which means they passed a snow traction test. For the best grip on ice and snow, a dedicated winter tire is still the safer choice.

Do you sell off-road wheels?

Yes. We carry alloy, steel and off-road wheels, and we can put together a wheel and tire package that's mounted and balanced for your truck or SUV.
